Create A Desktop Shortcut in Chrome or on a Chromebook
The following instructions are intended for use on Windows 10, but they also apply to Chrome OS (like a Chromebook). The only difference is that Chrome OS does not have a desktop on which to place the shortcut. It will pin to the shelf.
Using Chrome, you can create desktop shortcuts to your favorite websites (e.g. https://tea.texas.gov/, https://www.youtube.com/, etc.) or web applications (like Google Mail or Calendar ... e.g. https://mail.esc18.net or https://calendar.esc18.net).
Navigate to the website or web application and then click on the three dots at the top-right hand corner of the Google Chrome browser. Hover your mouse over More Tools and select Create shortcut from the side menu.

Next, name your shortcut. If you want the shortcut to open in its own window, check the box next to Open as window. If you want it to open as a tab in Chrome, leave it unchecked. Click the Create button when done.

You will have a shortcut to your favorite website or web application on your desktop like below.
