FortiClient VPN Configuration and Overview
Note: The connection information is unique per district so please use the specific information provided for your district.
To get started go to your district specific VPN portal (example: https://fw-sampleisd.edlink18.net)
Log in using the credentials provided
After successful login you can use the Quick Connection option to connect to resources inside the district network without having to download and install the VPN Client.
To download and install the client click Download FortiClient and select the appropriate version for your OS
After you install the FortiClient you will have an icon similar to the following
Launch the FortiClient to configure and connect to the District network.
To add a connection for the first time, click the three lines next to the VPN Name field and select Add a new connection
Enter a name for the connection and enter the FQDN provided for the District Firewall (Example: fw-sampleisd.edlink18.net)
Leave all other options default and click save.
To connect enter the username/password provided and click Connect
If successful you will see a notification in the task tray (Example below is from Windows)
To disconnect find the FortiClient VPN icon in your task tray
Right click the icon and select Disconnect "FW-SampleISD"
or you can open the FortiClient VPN by clicking the Icon
and clicking disconnect
